Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the BidGeo mobile application, website, and related directory services (collectively, the Service). It explains how BidGeo handles information when you browse, create an account, submit content, make a purchase, contact us, or otherwise use the Service.
BidGeo's limited role
BidGeo is only a listing facilitator. We do not operate, conduct, supervise, inspect, control, or participate in independently listed auctions, sales, markets, events, transactions, or interactions.
BidGeo is not responsible for anything that happens at sales or other listed events, including third-party conduct, transaction outcomes, payments, item condition or authenticity, safety, legality, cancellations, injuries, losses, or damage. Information we collect
We collect the information needed to operate the Service. The categories below describe the main types of information we may handle.
- Account and contact information, such as your name, email address, account identifier, password hash, email-verification status, and account-session information when you create or use an account.
- Profile, listing, and submission information, such as business or organizer details, event descriptions, dates, addresses, ZIP codes, photos, links, and other content that you choose to provide.
- Ownership-claim and moderation information, such as credentials, supporting documents, reports, communications, and review decisions. Claim evidence is handled as private review material and is not published as part of a public listing.
- Purchase and entitlement information, such as the store, product, transaction or receipt reference, purchase status, and subscription or promotion entitlement needed to verify and administer a purchase. BidGeo does not collect or store your full payment-card number.
- Communications and support information, including messages and email correspondence you send to us or receive from us.
- Device, session, and service information used to run and protect the Service, such as app or browser information, IP-derived technical information, diagnostic logs, and security events.
Location and ZIP-code choice
BidGeo requests location only while the app is in the foreground and you choose to use a location-based feature. We do not request or use background location access, and we do not track your location when the app is closed or not in use.
You may decline location permission or turn it off in your device settings. You can still search nearby listings by entering a ZIP code manually; this ZIP-code fallback is available instead of sharing device location.
How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the directory, show relevant listings, create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, respond to support requests, process or verify subscriptions and one-time purchases, and send service-related messages.
We also use information to review submissions, investigate reports and abuse, enforce our Terms of Use, protect the Service and its users, maintain records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
When information is shared
Public Profiles, public listings, and other information you submit for publication may be visible to anyone who uses the Service. Do not include private information in content that you intend to publish.
We may share information with service providers that help us host the Service, store submitted material, deliver email, provide customer support, and verify store purchases or subscriptions. Those providers may use the information only to provide services for BidGeo or as otherwise required by law.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our agreements, comply with law or valid legal process, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of all or part of the business. We do not sell personal information for money.
Moderation, storage, and security
BidGeo may review listing submissions, Profile information, reports, ads, photos, ownership claims, and related communications to maintain a useful and safe directory. Moderators may approve, decline, change, limit, archive, or remove content consistent with our Terms of Use and applicable law.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. Access is limited to people and providers with a legitimate service need, and private claim evidence is kept separate from public listing content. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security and moderation records, resolve disputes, meet legal, tax, accounting, and store-provider obligations, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary with the type of information and the reason it was collected.
You may use the Delete BidGeo Account action under Account & tools, or request assistance by emailing support@bidgeoapp.com from the email address associated with your account. Account deletion revokes BidGeo sessions and credentials, withdraws associated public content, and deletes or de-identifies eligible account information. We may retain limited information where necessary for legal obligations, tax and transaction records, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, enforcement, or backups until those records are routinely overwritten. Store purchase history and refunds are also subject to the applicable app store's records and policies.
Your choices
You can choose not to create an account, decline foreground location access, use a manual ZIP code, and refrain from submitting content. You may update public Profile or listing information through available Service controls or ask us for help at the support email below.
For privacy questions, requests to access or correct personal information, or deletion requests, contact support@bidgeoapp.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your request and protect your account.
Children and policy changes
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BidGeo, please contact us so that we can review the report.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes or as law requires. If we make a material change, we will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Your continued use after the effective date is subject to the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
